By day, Melanie is a Vice President/Quality Assurance Manager for a large bank in Wisconsin where she oversees the quality and training functions for a multi-site Contact Center. She has learned to "cook off the stress" by creating stews, soups, main dishes, and desserts. Her family, which includes two grown step-children, are very appreciative of this stress management technique! When she's not working or cooking, she is the Cantorial Soloist for Congregation Mount Sinai in Wausau, Wisconsin.
In 2014, Melanie took a break from blogging in order to focus on her health. At 311+ pounds, she knew it was time to step away from food. In early 2015, she underwent roux Roux en Y Gastric Bypass surgery and hasn't looked back since! Today, she has a healthy BMI of 22, and she's committed to cooking high protein, healthy carb food that her whole family will enjoy! She also knows that not everyone follows a bariatric way of eating, so she still makes occasional treat-meals for friends and family. Come follow her on her continued path to maintaining good health!
